At SBDS Dance and Cheer our Competition Teams are for those who want to take their dance training to the next level.

Team members learn a selection of well-choreographed competitive dances, perform in different styles and are exposed to other inspirational performers at competitions. Our competition teams continue to enjoy fantastic success in both local and national competitions.

To be eligible, competition teams have specific eligibility requirements in regards to the amount of classes and styles that students must do.

DANCE TEAMS

Students must attend 1 x weekly class for the teams that they have accepted. Additional Classes included for competitive dance teams are

*Ballet Class (preferably the exam ballet class - completing the actual exam is not required)

CHEER TEAMS

Students must attend 1 x weekly cheer and tumble session. Additional Classes included for competitive cheer teams

* Other class add ons such as Base training and Flyers will be coming available once the season is underway.

Students must also attend additional choreography training sessions. These dates and times will be notified by the teams coach as required.

Our Competition Teams are a team sport and as such it is very important that all team members are committed equally. Competition Team students are required to meet all class requirements and uphold the values of being a Competition Team student at our studio.

We understand that things happen in life, however we expect our Competition Team students to not miss their classes lightly and only when very unwell. If you are planning a holiday that falls on one of the training sessions or competition dates please let us know at the beginning of the year so their teacher can make appropriate adjustments if/where required.

As representatives of SBDS Dance and Cheer Competition Teams we expect that our Competition Team students uphold the full SBDS Dance and Cheer uniform values in every single lesson. This includes full uniform in classes and hair secured in a bun for dance and bun or plaited pony tail for cheer

Our Competition Team students are also expected to wear a team tshirt/jacket as advised to competitions as representatives of our studio.

Additional competition related fees are outlined below.

Dance Teams - are approximately $30 for the first dance routine and $15 for each additional dance routine. These costs can be paid either on a weekly direct debit, by 3 instalment payments due 1st March, 1st June and 1st September or as one off in full payment. A deposit of $150 per routine will be invoiced and payable by 1st March.

For example: If your child is doing 1x jazz team, 1x lyrical team and 1x hip hop team - that is $30 plus $15 plus $15 = $60

Cheer Teams - are approximately $32 for the first cheer routine and $13 for each additional cheer routine. These costs can be paid either on a weekly direct debit, by 3 instalment payments due 1st March, 1st June and 1st September or as one off in full payment. A deposit of $150 per routine will be invoiced and payable by 1st March.
